    that was a spambot... it doesn't even know that it was posting on a BBS web or news interface... just mark it as spam and move on... maybe hit that operator with a note about their system being botted...

    Not only that, it was apparently a website for selling drugs, judging from
    the vague glimpses of 'Ketamine/weed for sale' I caught as I spammed return.

    Because that's what drug dealers do, right? Sell on the surface web?

    it is 6 for one, half dozen for the other over here... when i mark them as spam, my web interface shows a page that the message has been blocked for moderation... if i just delete them, it shows the message doesn't exist...
    it doesn't matter to me which is shown but i prefer to let the spiders know that they have been moderated... they'll get purged soon enough anyway... i just want to make sure any back links are broken... so i use the SPAM
    flag for more than just email... i use it for any message that is spam...
